It is wonderful to see so many people contributing to Claire Squires’ Samaritans appeal. Our sincere condolences to Claire’s family and friends.
As she was so close to the finish line, we have asked the London Marathon organiser to send Claire’s family her medal. We would also like an extra medal to be given that could be hung at the Samaritans’ head office as a tribute to Claire.
The Samaritans do a fantastic job in saving lives, helping people who are in desperate need to talk and are on the verge of suicide. If they can get through that bleak period then people often go on to mend and get their lives back together.
With the kind of money that has been raised by Claire’s appeal, lives will definitely be saved. Hopefully it will be of some comfort to her family and friends in what must be an incredibly difficult time, to lose a daughter who is only 30 years old.
I’ve always believed that it is wonderful if you can live on after death by helping others and the human kindness shown by this outpouring of giving for Claire and Samaritans is an inspiration. We will of course be giving a private donation too.
