Cardio Tennis

It is no secret that we are big tennis fans. We held the Necker Cup recently and a lot of fun – not to mention enjoyable sport – was had by all.
Meanwhile, many of you will have been gripped by the Australian Open taking place at the moment. The Andy Murray v Roger Federer semi-final was a great match. Who do you think will win the tournament? My loyalties are torn between Necker Cup star Novak Djokovic and British favourite Murray – good luck to both. In the men’s doubles, you can’t look beyond the awesome Bryan Brothers.
Tennis is a great way to keep fit. I try to play as often as possible and fit a morning match into my routine when here on Necker. Now there is a great new way to combine a love of tennis and staying in shape: Cardio Tennis.
It is available at all Virgin Active UK clubs, and if you’re interested in trying it out then go along to a free taster session with Kirsty Gallagher at Westfield Shepherds Bush this weekend, courtesy of British Tennis.
Cardio Tennis is a good way to enjoy the sociable side of tennis, and you can burn 600 calories a session regardless of tennis ability. Give it a go.
