Business Needs a Plan B!

Here's an update on our latest initiative (and one of the most exciting yet) which we have co-founded with Jochen Zeitz, the Chairman of Puma. It’s called The B Team and like The Elders and Carbon War Room it’s being incubated by Virgin Unite and Jean Oelwang.

The B Team will be a group of global business leaders who share similar views about the need to transform the future of business and use entrepreneurial skills to help solve critical social and environmental issues.

Derek Handley, a young entrepreneur has joined us as our co-founder and CEO, and last week he helped pull together a group of incredible and influential young people in New York to chat with us. We spent the afternoon generating some great ideas about the really big challenges the world is facing, how business can tackle these challenges and how The B Team can have the most impact.

We left the session encouraged and energised after experiencing the passion and diversity amongst this amazing group.

Jochen said: Listening to a group of inspiring young people and how they view the issues that we are facing in our world today was invaluable. They will be inheriting the damages the previous generation left behind on the planet and I was reassured by their values and ethical awareness that they will make decisions for the benefit of both nature and society. I look forward to continuing the conversation we began yesterday.”

With The B Team we want to champion concrete solutions to help make capitalism a driving force for social, environmental and economic benefit.

We want to listen and learn as we start moving into the next few months, if you support this vision of the future go to bteam.org and join the conversation on FacebookLinkedIn and Twitter.
