Bryan Bros down under

Great to see the Australian Open underway in Melbourne. As the first Grand Slam tournament of the year it should be a thrilling spectacle as the top players in the world go head-to-head.

Looking forward to seeing the progress of young Brits Laura Robson and Heather Watson in the ladie's singles. In the men’s singles I’m hoping for a final between British favourite Andy Murray and world number one Novak Djokovic.

We were fortunate to have Novak here with us for the Necker Cup at the end of 2012, and a wonderful time was had by all. He’s a fun-loving guy as well as an incredible sportsman.

In the men’s doubles my allegiance lies with fellow Necker Cup competitors the Bryan Brothers. They started 2013 by winning their third Sydney crown at the weekend.

What was the secret of their success? Well, their father Wayne dropped me a note to say that “it was really your Necker Cup that got ‘em razor sharp for Sydney!”

But seriously, they could well become the greatest doubles players of all time, if they’re not already.

Who do you think will win this year’s Australian Open? Good luck to all the competitors - and to everyone playing tennis across the world.
