World Cup fever is gripping the globe at the moment and the Virgin Group is no exception.

Today we are very proud to fly the England World Cup squad to Johannesburg on a special Virgin Atlantic plane ready for the big kick off.

This is a great honour for Virgin Atlantic and we are delighted they have chosen to fly with us on our award-winning Upper Class Suite.

Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and the rest of the squad will choose from a specially tailored menu on the Airbus A340-600 and our world-class cabin crew will look after them all the way from London Heathrow to Johannesburg.

We promise they will be ready to take on the world and make England proud when they arrive in South Africa.

I have been lucky enough to taste the World Cup atmosphere in South Africa myself, taking part in Virgin Active SA's Fans In Training scheme.

Fans staying in South Africa for the World Cup can get special deals to train in Virgin Active SA's gyms and I got involved myself with a Streaker Class.
