Alabama Shakes

Was lucky enough to be in the crowd as Alabama Shakes put on an incredible performance at FreeFest. They are now my new favourite band.

When you see singer Brittany Howard onstage you can't help be struck by her incredible presence. She has a really powerful voice and they are completely different from any band I've ever seen before. Brittany also has what looks like her grandmother's dress on - she's not looking to win any beauty contest, she's just showing she's one of the best singers you will ever see.

However, when you meet her backstage, you actually realise that she is a real beauty too (not that this should matter lads!) Brittany and the whole band are delightful company.

Anyway, they are going to be real stars for years to come. If they are playing a venue near you, get your tickets now.

Who is your new favourite band? We're enjoying The Rolling Stones too of course!
