My thoughts and collected comments from The Elders' trip to Middle East
Jeff Skoll and I went for a walk to the Old City of Jerusalem through the Damascus Gate. There we had coffee in a Palestinian café. Over a discussion with the Palestinian owner they expressed their scepticism on the future. "Israel will never allow the Palestinians to have their own state. As a result they will ultimately destroy themselves". Hopefully for both the Palestinians and the Israelis and for all our sakes they will prove to be wrong.

The Elders visit the Middle East
Yesterday Jeff Skoll and I arrived in Jerusalem with The Elders to support them in their efforts to help create a climate for peace in the region. We are to meet those on both sides who are working at the grass roots for peace.The Elders will encourage the broader population to believe that peace is possible and recognise the important opportunity that now exists for peace. They will highlight the plight of the Gazans and insist on an end to Gaza’s isolation on humanitarian

Dinosaur BA shouldn't be given a free meal ticket to merge
This Friday (14th August) will mark the first anniversary since BA and American Airlines asked regulators to bless their plans for an effective merger of the two troubled carriers. It is a year since they announced that they wanted to create the world’s biggest airline and do what is normally not allowed – namely, fix prices and schedules and share crucial marketing and operational data. These carriers already command dominant market shares on many routes between Heathrow and the US.
