Virgin Media update: awards, cables and films
- Oct 13, 2011
In 2010, Virgin Media set out to bring their sustainability story to life. They approached this by putting what they’re good at as a company – digital entertainment – at the heart of how they tell their story. We take a look at some of their recent stories to see what they’ve been up to…
One of their latest films shows everything good about the Louder Lounge, the exclusive hospitality area at the V-Festival. We particularly like the Cupboard Love idea and the involvement of the Virgin Media Pioneers.
The digital approach Virgin Media have taken also helps to show what’s going on behind the scenes in a really interesting way. But perhaps more importantly it shows the people that are helping to make the business more sustainable. Check out their latest ‘Little Red Box’ film below, which we were impressed to hear was organised and filmed by the logistics team themselves - clearly a team of many talents!
The website also contains loads of articles about their sustainability progress, including this one on cable recycling. We suggest you grab a cuppa and have a read.
With all this work going on, it’s no wonder that Virgin Media have recently picked up two awards for their efforts. They won both Best Website and Best Strategic Communications categories at the 2011 IVCA Clarion Awards.
Here’s a pic of Katie Chapman, Acting Head of Sustainability at Virgin Media and partner agency Given London holding their very shiny, snazzy awards!
