Spend the night snoring on the couch and you could help rebuild young lives. Introducing The Couch Project!
The Couch Project is a new scheme helping to raise awareness of youth homelessness. Of 32,000 homeless young Australians (12 - 25 years of age) 14,000 live on the couches of friends, dealers and worse. This is where The Couch Project comes in.
On Friday June 8th, sleeping on your couch could help The Salvation Army's Oasis Youth Support Network (Oasis) raise awareness of and combat youth homelessness.
All funds raised will go directly to supporting the cutting edge programs Oasis provides to assist homeless young people rebuild their lives, including crisis and transitional accommodation, case management and counseling and educational and vocational programs.
The Couch Project can also help with accredited workplace training, drop in facilities and outreach services and drug, alcohol and legal support.
Virgin Money Australia work with Oasis to support the idea - you can too! Head over to The Couch Project to get involved.
