Screw Business as Usual judges announced

Virgin Unite have announced an inspiring line-up of judges to select the world’s best idea to ‘Screw Business as Usual’. Richard Branson will be joined on the panel by:

Jane Tewson - Igniting Change

Creel Price - Founder Accelerate Global

Peter Boyd – COO of Carbon War Room

Tony Banks – CEO of Balhousie Care Group

Mark Thompson – serial entrepreneur & venture capitalist

Joe Polish – founder & President of Piranha Marketing Inc.

The competition launched in November 2011 with the objective of finding the best ideas from around the world to Screw Business as Usual, following the launch of Richard Branson’s book of the same name.

The hundreds of entries submitted have seen a great range of ideas, from an ethical football 'Soccket' that harnesses and stores energy from play for use as a power source in resource-poor areas to 'Rapanui', an eco-fashion brand that makes casual wear in line with the latest trends from sustainable materials, to an idea to introduce a ‘Thinking Class' for air and train passengers to opt into, where passengers can donate their time and generate ideas through a virtual community platform.

The panel will be responsible for judging the Top 10 ideas, as voted for by the public, with the winning idea being announced on May 14th. The winner will join the Virgin Group founder on a money-can’t-buy Connection Trip to South Africa with Virgin Unite.

As part of the prize, the winner will get to meet frontline leaders who are making a difference, share ideas with young entrepreneurs at the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship and get to spend several days experiencing the wildlife of South Africa at Ulusaba – Richard Branson’s private game reserve.
