Own Richard Branson's Visionary Globe

Want to own a special globe created by Richard Branson? Now is your chance to bid for a Visionary Globe and make a difference for a good cause at the same time.

Condé Nast Traveler 2012 Visionaries including Ai Weiwei, Olivia Wilde and Christy Turlington Burns have created original artworks based upon the traditional schoolhouse globe, with each adding their own unique perspective.

Branson decided to highlight the issue of the oceans through his globe, with all proceeds raised going to Virgin Unite.

The Virgin Founder commented: "Listen to the ocean. For the last 20 years, we have been arguing about global warming, while the ocean, one of the planet’s most essential ecosystems, is being destroyed.

"Virgin Unite is working with several initiatives helping to protect the oceans. Among them is the OceanElders (including Sylvia Earle, Jean Michel Cousteau, Ted Turner, and myself), who are working to raise awareness of threats to the oceans, and helping scale the work of organizations fighting to protect them.

"To redress the damage we have done, we must all listen to the ocean. The Condé Nast Traveler globe is a wonderful reminder that the oceans makes up 71 percent of our planet, and yet are the least understood areas. The ocean is a frontier for research and inspiration, and it is also our life force. Protecting the ocean starts with listening to it. 2013 is the year of the ocean, and I plan to listen to it every day. Will you join me?"

You have until September 21 at 1pm to bid on all of the artwork via CharityBuzz.com, and the proceeds from the sale of each globe will be donated to the non-profit organisation chosen by its Visionary. Head over to Conde Naste Traveler to see all of the globes.
