Volunteer for your FreeFest ticket

Despite FreeFest freeing out in two minutes flat, music fans can still earn tickets to the festival by donating their volunteer work.
Virgin Mobile’s ‘Free IP’ programme allows fans to gain tickets by volunteering a couple of hours of their time to help homeless youth, in exchange for a ticket.
Example volunteer activities could include:
- Making bag lunches and snack baskets
- Transforming shelter and living spaces through painting and gardening projects
- Donating items like hygiene kits, backpacks and school supplies
Through the charitable donations of the generous FreeFest music fans, over the past three years, the festival has raised nearly $600,000, generated more than 75,000 hours of volunteer time and created over 25,000 outreach kits.
The donations from last year’s FreeFest built the Virgin Mobile RE*Generation House, a homeless youth shelter developed by Sasha Bruce Youthwork in Washington, DC.
This year, Virgin Mobile are asking each person who attends the festival to donate a minimum of $10 to The Re*Generation initiative which provides a community of homeless youth with access to not just housing but programming around social entrepreneurship and urban agriculture.
All of the donations will then be collected and presented by Virgin Unite.
