The Elders are celebrating their fifth birthday! This is your chance to join Richard Branson and Elders Gro Harlem Brundtland, Jimmy Carter, Mary Robinson and Desmond Tutu live in London.
Enter Virgin Unite's competition to win a pair of tickets to the sold out Intelligence Squared event at 7pm on 2nd July, where The Elders will be in conversation with Jon Snow at the Barbican.

The Elders is an independent group of global leaders who work together for peace and human rights. It all started with an idea of Peter Gabriel and Richard Branson's, to bring together a group of global leaders who were at a point in their careers when they had no other agenda than that of humanity.
In July 2007, Nelson Mandela and Graça Machel founded The Elders in Johannesburg. With Archbishop Tutu as the chair, they were joined by visionary leaders Martti Ahtisaari, Ela Bhatt, Lakhdar Brahimi, Gro Brundtland, Fernando H Cardoso, Jimmy Carter, Mary Robinson and Kofi Annan. The Elders speak freely, are fiercely independent and use their experience and wisdom to work on behalf of humanity.
Over the last five years, The Elders have tackled many tough issues like child marriage and helped to resolve conflicts in places like the Korean Penninsula, North and South Sudan, Cyprus, Zimbabwe and many others.
Virgin Unite, the non-profit foundation of the Virgin Group, was very fortunate to have the chance to incubate this wonderful initiative and bring on board a family of wonderful partners who support their work. This competition is being held to celebrate The Elders' incredible five years and give our followers the chance to get involved in the festivities in person.
