Marking five years since Nelson Mandela founded The Elders, Intelligence Squared will host Jimmy Carter, Mary Robinson and Desmond Tutu in conversation with Jon Snow at the Barbican in London tonight.
Richard Branson and Peter Gabriel, whose original vision of The Elders was translated into reality by Nelson Mandela, will make a special guest appearance at the event.
Throughout their five years The Elders have undertaken projects from around the world, as Former US President Jimmy Carter recently explained: “We never forget what Nelson Mandela told us when he founded The Elders: be bold."
"We have always tried to do that, whether we are in Khartoum or Juba, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Gaza, Pyongyang or Seoul, or any of the troubled places where we collectively work, meet with leaders and listen to the people.”
If you’d like to watch the discussion unfold then head over to The Elders website from 7pm, you can also join in the conversation on Twitter via the #IQ2Elders hashtag.
