After another very successful Creating Climate Wealth (CCW) summit, held back in March in Washington DC, the Carbon War Room has announced that it will commit $20,000 to the Trucking working track.
Following careful assessment of the Carbon War Room criteria, the executive team reached a consensus in support for awarding its starter-fund pot to Trucking. This will help to scope out the potential operation in more detail, disseminate research on the efficiency potential of the Information Communications Technologies in the Trucking sector and fuel use in North America as well as allowing targeted convening’s to take place, in both North America and UK to refine the action plan with all the CCW delegates.
Congratulations to the group!
Jose Maria Figueres said “While this means that our limited starter-fund pot is now committed for the time being, it does not mean that we halt effort in pursuing other promising areas. We are planning an important convening in Rio around Livestock with both local and international partners; and continuing to work out how we can add value in support of entrepreneurial efforts in Energy Access and the Carbon Negative Economy.”
The six working tracks’ discussions and strategies from the Washington CCW summit, including the successful Trucking track, have been summarised in a new report, in the hope that they may serve as operational pathways for all stakeholders invested in achieving substantial emissions reductions in these sectors. CCW summits are a unique, outcome-oriented workshop, with a sector-based approach to solving problems. If you have never been involved in one then check out the new video above to find out from Richard Branson and the CWR team, what they are all about!
The remaining 2012 CCW Summits are going to be held in Germany (September), UK (October),and Singapore (November), please check the CCW website for more details.
