in the beginning

So here we are - V Festival in Melbourne has been and gone. After much anticipation, having purchased my tickets way back last year, the day is over. There's a slight sadness in that all that I've been looking forward to so much has been experienced and is now but a memory.
The great thing about human beings is that due to our own thoughts, perceptions and personal contexts, we all have our own little point of view on things. When you think about all the little point of views people are having in a festival - that's a lot of different ways of thinking. However, lucky for you - you get to hear mine...
Part One:
We (being my husband Danny and I) decided to go to the festival early so that we could check out Little Red. Much to my surprise, there was already a long line of people waiting to get in when we had arrived. It was nice to see a decent amount of people there, nice and early, standing right at the front of the stage - none of that awkward support band "let's stand 3 metres back from the stage" nonsense.
Little Red stepped onto the Blue stage and did not disappoint the early punters. I'd only discovered them a few months ago when they had supported Jack Penate, and they just simply amazed me. Here was a band that unashamedly wore their influences on their sleeve and could actually pull it off without an air of arrogance. The sense of fun and innocence in their performance gives their songs some authenticity and flair. With four out of the five members all joining in to sing (and sing well for that matter) lead parts and harmonies - gives me the feeling of listening to a classic rhythm & blues band from the 1950's. Not only do they have the passion and talent to perform well - but this little band from Melbourne has also got some personality! Dressing the part in suits, ties and clean white shirts, makes the live experience with Little Red that much more fun.
... more to come ...
