The Stone Roses warm up for V Festival

Virgin Media's V Festival 2012 is set to be the biggest yet - and the headliners are already warming up for the festival of the summer.

The Stone Roses played their first gig in 16 years with a free show at Warrington Parr Hall, announced just hours before the set.

All the classics were aired by Ian Brown and co, from 'I Wanna Be Adored' to 'She Bangs The Drums', giving V Festival-goers a clue as to what they can expect from The Stone Roses this coming August.

Meanwhile, rumours abound that the band have new material written, which could be ready in time for V Festival.

The Stones Roses will headline V Festival alongside returning Las Vegas stars The Killers, Snow Patrol, Noel Gallgher and many more on August 18th and 19th.#
