Everyone loves a bit of pop punk, even if they pretend they don't. From The Offspring to Blink 182, Crowns guest blog on their top five pop punk anthems...
In addition to our diet of rollickin' bollockin' folk tunes, we listened to more pop-punk than you could fit on an American Pie soundtrack. We present to you - Crowns' top five favourite pop-punk anthems!
5. Fat Lip - Sum 41
The opening riff is really nostalgic now. On the rare occasion that Crowns will DJ - this is always a banger. True fact: Jack wants this played at his funeral.
4. First Date - Blink 182
Boomer, Travis and Spaulding's mis-adventures in this video are a testament to everything that was both stupid and funny about Blink 182.
3. The Offspring - Want You Bad
Noodles (guitar) is the most rocking grandad in pop-punk. One of our mates Dad looks exactly like him too...
2. Hitchin' A Ride - Green Day
Typical Green Day - pop-punk on the surface, but actually mentally disturbing at the heart of it.
1. My Friends Over You - New Found Glory
Only half of the band actually like this song. Maybe it'll be the reason we split up one day.
Crowns’ debut single ‘Kissing Gates’ is out now on Ship Wreckords.
