3 top V Festival tips

Much like the V Festival tree, which is currently sitting in the middle of the Weston Park site, it’s important to keep your eye out for any potential problems this weekend.

With thousands of revellers descending on both Chelmsford and Staffordshire over the next three days it promises to be the best Virgin Media V Festival yet, as sun, a stellar line-up of live music and that famous V atmosphere all in attendance.

However before you head off into the fields, there’s a couple things to bear in mind. Red Room wouldn’t want you to have your weekend spoilt by a spot of unwanted bother!

1. The hottest weekend of the year

Where’s the bad news, right? While many of us are rejoicing at the thought of spending the sunniest weekend of the year in a field with friends, there’s reason to be cautious. Alcohol and the midday sun can be a potent mix, remembered to keep hydrated with regular water breaks. There’s also the handy Festice guys who will be more than happy to help cool you down.

2. Look after your valuables

As the Essex police force have been quick to point out, it’s important for festival goers to look after their wallets and phones this weekend. Take in the advice handed out in this video and install the ‘Find my iphone’ app to safeguard against any potential thefts.

3. Every Can Counts

We know lots of you will be drinking to your heart’s content this weekend, which means they’ll be an awful lot of empty cans kicking round the site. Once again there will be incentives to recycle, as Every Can Counts returns to V. For some green fun, recycle your cans and take on the Can You Kick It inflatable football challenge.

Oh and if you fancy winning some tickets for 2013, why not get involved in the V Festival Instagram competition...
