Virgin Media to create 1,000 jobs

Virgin Media have confirmed their intention to create an extra 1,000 jobs by 2014, with positions becoming available at their centre of excellence for customer service and technical support in Swansea.

The centre has a full staff capacity of 1,200, with Virgin Media aiming to reach full capacity within the next two years.

"At the moment we have around 700 active employees fully out of training and on the phones taking calls. We have 140 in training, which is due to finish over the course of the next four to six weeks. The plan would be to grow up to capacity over time,” explained Mark Davidson, executive director of customer contact Virgin Media.

"The new Swansea centre is a key part of our customer service operations and by creating a fun and vibrant place to work, we're focused on creating the right environment to help deliver on our strategy to deliver world class customer service."
