Pimp my beach hut, with Virgin Media

With Xzibit nowhere to be seen, and Virgin products-galore, the only conclusion that could be reached is that the folks over at Virgin Media are responsible for this super-pimped gadget lovers’ dream holiday destination.

Whilst experiencing these warmer-than-usual UK climes, Virgin Media took a simple beach hut (10ft by 8ft) in West Sussex and installed 15 top techy must-haves. Television presenter and technology queen Suzi Perry, popped along to check them out:

  • Virgin Media Tivo Box
  • Virgin Media Broadband Superhub
  • Sonos wireless hi-fi system
  • The Firewinder Mini (wind-powered lighting)
  • Samsung 3D TV
  • Xbox 360 Kinect
  • Gamescom Headset
  • Nikon Sportstar Ex Binoculars
  • Oregon Complete Home Weather Station
  • Nikon AW 100 camera
  • iPad
  • Oregon Handheld UV Monitor
  • Portable Audio Laboratory +
  • MEEP! Children's Tablet
  • and Suzi's favourite - the Bubblescope, a smart phone lens attachment

"As more of us are embracing ‘stay-cations’, spending time at the beach has become an integral part of British family holidays," said Perry. "I think gadget-enhanced huts like this will become increasingly desirable, as it means the whole family will be entertained - whether there’s rain or shine, or simply just to keep in touch with friends and family while away from home."
