Mr T & Daisy Duke deliver Virgin Media TiVo boxes
- Aug 31, 2011
Virgin Media has revealed its new TiVo super-vans, with a little help from Mr T and Daisy Duke.
A brand new fleet of super-vans based on some of the most iconic TV vehicles of our time will deliver Virgin Media’s new set top box powered by TiVo.
General Lee, the Dukes of Hazzard modified Dodge Charger with its trade-marked orange hue and doors welded shut, is the best loved TV vehicle, an online poll found.
The A-Team’s distinctive black and red van, drove by Mr T and co, came in second according to Virgin Media research.

Following the super-van launch with Mr T and Daisy Duke lookalikes, fleets of the iconic 80s vans will now be used by TiVo installers.
Lauren Rees, a Virgin Media installer who was there to help launch the vans, said: “It was a bit of a shock to turn up to work and be met by a very convincing Mr-T and Daisy Duke, but I am so excited to be delivering TiVo in vans made famous by some of my favourite TV shows.
“We’ve already been getting a fantastic response from customers receiving TiVo, but now we’ll create an impact just driving up the road. I’ve even been inundated with people begging for a lift!”
Disney favourite Herbie, the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo, the Gran Torino from Starsky and Hutch and Greased Lightning also fared well in the survey of the UK’s best loved TV vehicles.
