Millions use London Underground WiFi

Virgin Media has revealed to V3 that the London Underground WiFi network has delivered three million sessions since the start of the Olympic Games, with 72 of the 80 planned stations now hooked up.

"We'd identified a maximum of 80 stations for ahead of the Games and it's a pretty good result for a six week rollout schedule. We'll continue the roll out to around 120 stations in 2012," explained a Virgin Media spokesperson.

The total number of sessions since the service went live is just short of 15 million, with a peak day seeing a massive session count of 643,013.

The total number of registered users for the service is currently over the 345,000 mark, with 43,000 alone signing up since the start of London 2012.
