Live - Virgin at the London Marathon

Today sees London play host to the world’s largest annual fundraising event, as the Virgin London Marathon takes sees thousands of runners and fundraisers take to the streets.

As you’d expect they’ll be a strong Virgin presence at today’s event:

Virgin Unite have a Marathon Team of 50 runners from around the Virgin Group and will be setting up a cheer point at the 25 mile mark (outside Embankment Station), as well as celebrating with the runners and their families after the gruelling 26.2 miles have been completed.

Virgin Money, as lead sponsors of the race, have been busy all week helping the runners get ready for the event at the Virgin London Marathon Expo. They will be ensuring the event runs as smoothly as possible throughout the day.

Virgin Money Giving have been helping competitors raise as much money as possible in the build up to today, in the best way possible. As Richard Branson explains: “If you donate through our not-for-profit fundraising website Virgin Money Giving, you'll know more of your money is going directly where it’s needed most - unlike with other donation services.”

Virgin Holidays have got in the spirit of things by supporting the incredible efforts of Matthew Loddy, who is attempting to run 100 marathons in 100 days. Virgin Holidays will be cheering on Matthew as he takes on the course today.

If you’re not able to get to the race itself then tune into Virgin’s Twitter stream, as we bring you live updates as well as exclusive news and pictures from the event throughout the day…

Best of luck to each and every runner!
