Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the Necker Island fire, which saw saw the loss of Richard Branson’s home, the Great House.
In the midst of a tropical storm a lightning bolt struck the house’s main room, sparking a blaze which quickly reduced the building to ruins.
Thankfully there was no loss of life on the night, meaning that one year on all those present can take pride in seeing the island back on its feet. A lot of hard work has gone into restoring the home of the Virgin Group founder in that time, take a peek at some of the latest photos from Necker below.
“We're on schedule to have the Main House finished in the Spring but in the meantime, as people can see from the photos, life goes on in a delightful way,” explained Branson.

The new beach house interior, complete with snooker, chess and a fully stocked bar...

...although when the view from the beach house is this good, why would you want to stay inside...

...as a keen tennis fan Richard Branson can often be found out on the island's courts...

...and after working up an apetite there's no better palce to dine than the beach house, with room for 40 guests.
