Richard Branson recently joined CNBC’s Squawk Box Book Club, via a live hangout, to discuss the ideas and motives behind his latest book ‘Screw Business as Usual’.
The Virgin Group founder was keen to point out the benefits of business being used as a force for good, as well as the relative ease of doing so: “Most businesses that are set up are done so to make a difference, as if they can’t do that then there’s not much point of them being there in the first place.”
“What I’m saying in the book is that we can’t just leave things to politicians and social workers, business people often have a set of skills that are different from others and if they can use their entrepreneurial skills to tackle some of the seemingly intractable problems of the world then it will be a better place for all.”
Richard has released a number of best-selling books and has another on the horizon, with ‘Like A Virgin’ scheduled for release this summer. It promises to give you all the tips they don’t teach you at business school, check back with Virgin for all the latest news on the book over the coming months.
