You never know who you’re going to bump into on a Virgin America flight, just ask Richard Branson. The Virgin Group Founder was recently travelling from New York to San Francisco with the domestic airline, when he bumped into film-maker Kevin Smith and Twitter CEO Dick Costolo.
While Branson was busy handing out the cocktails and entertaining the passengers, Smith was hard at work putting together his latest podcast. During the flight both Costolo and Branson found time to sit down with Smith to share some of their thoughts with him, becoming podcast stars in the process.
“It’s great to be speaking with you,” Branson tells Smith, “although I’m not so sure I want to take you up on your offer of joining the podcast mile high club!”

During the interview Branson talks Virgin Records, The Exorcist, Tubular Bells and the positive impact of his parents on his life: “When I told my parents I was going to leave school at the age of 16 we walked around the garden five times in a row, on the sixth time my Dad said to me 'well at least you know what you want to do with your life,' that was good to hear.”
