Richard Branson is set to celebrate the launch of two new Virgin Radio stations in Canada next month, as he officially opens a station in Winnipeg.
The latest additions to the Virgin Radio Canada network, based in London and Winnipeg, join stations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal as their reach increases to almost 10 million listeners per week.
The chart hit stations are focused on delivering both music and fun, with a focus on big promotions and personalities helping to make a formula that has steadily increased its share of the market.
The Virgin Group founder’s visit to Winnipeg will also see him take part in a joint fundraising initiative between Virgin Unite, Virgin Mobile Canada and Virgin Radio Canada. Branson has regularly visited Canada in recent years with Virgin Unite, taking part in a number of charity events with the likes of Cory Monteith.
