Richard Branson named top leader to work for

Richard Branson has been named as the leader most people would like to work for in a new poll.

The Virgin founder came out on top as the ideal boss for most employees in a study by Aspire Global Network (AGN).

Apple’s Steve Jobs and Lord Sugar were among other top business chiefs scoring highly in the research.

Paul Farrer, chairman of AGN, suggested that creativity and loyalty are among the reasons for Richard Branson's popularity in the study.

He commented: "Interestingly Richard Branson was the leader most people would like to work for. Branson is a renowned businessman and incredibly entrepreneurial and creative individual.

"His sensitive approach to leadership and offering of strong staff packages and benefits has garnered staff loyalty. This is quite clearly a factor of high importance to the audience of our survey, and one employers need to take note of."

Meanwhile, Richard Branson has been visiting Virgin businesses in the UK today. He tweeted: "Spent a great day in the Midlands saying hello to staff at @VirginActiveUK healthclubs & Assura Medical's Summerfield centre."
