114 life changing holiday moments

New research has shed light on the impact of holidays on our life. The Virgin Holidays study has revealed that British citizens will fly a massive 280,000 miles in their lifetime and visit an average of 17 different countries.

Holidays may seem like they’re over all too quickly but the numbers thrown up in the research make it seem like they’re almost never ending. Believe it or not, throughout the course of our holiday lifetime we will:

• Read 228 books

• Eat 456 ice-creams

• Drink 2,394 alcoholic drinks

• Take 13,500 photographs

• Enjoy one holiday romance

• Suffer 57 bouts of sunburn

• Spend 8 days waiting in the airport

• Make 114 life-changing decisions

“When you’re on holiday, the number of drinks you have or the miles you travel to get there can seem like a fairly small amount. But when you think about how many times you go abroad in your life, it can mean that you end up doing things a lot more than you think,” explained a Virgin Holidays spokesman.

“The thought of spending months of your life sitting on a sundrenched beach sounds great – even if that is in small doses. Holidays are a highlight of the year for most people – a time when you can really relax and forget about everything at home and work. It’s important to make the most of your time abroad.”

To continue making your way through the 456 ice-creams, visit Virgin Holidays and book yourself a break.
