Why it's time to get up and move

Do you have the right equation to be successful? Here's an entrepreneur guest blog on why it's time to get up and move...
Never let your dream become a regret, that was the message I was recently delivering on behalf of Virgin Unite to budding teenage entrepreneurs at Knowledge to Action's Youth Leadership Summit. As the young people listened to entrepreneur Greg Secker and Space Energy guru Peter Sage speak about how to create wealth, the message was so consistent across the board about doing good for others and how it benefits self.
The greatest significance in this life is not found through the car you drive, or the house you own or even how much money you have in the bank. No, the greatest significance is found through service; the greatest significance is found through how much you give out to others.
We often times lose sight of the real reason why we work to progress in our jobs or our businesses. When times get hard and motivation and energy seems to fade then earning money becomes a challenge, a drag or a means to an end.
A lot of the reason for this lack of motivation is that we often place the emphasis on the wrong things. Most people work because they want to afford things, most people seek money to buy the things they want, a big house, a nice car, go on nice holidays and enjoy life generally. The problem that exists there is that the number one focus then becomes money. When the focus is money alone then you will do any job to get the money so that you can afford to do the things you love.
The problem with that is, most people end up doing a job that they don’t enjoy in order to get money which will help them to do the things they really want to do. The equation is all wrong.
Most people have this equation:
WORK HARD + WORKER HARDER = MONEY
When in fact it should be:
WORK SMART + DO THE THINGS YOU LOVE = ENJOY EVERY DAY LIFE.
Notice that the second equation is very different and doesn’t have money as the focus. The thing that is key here is doing the things you love to do, when you are passionate about what you do, you will make the cash, the money will flow to you because you will put in that much effort in naturally.
As Richard Branson says, when you are passionate about something you will work very hard to achieve it. That passion translates to success. My message to the kids at the Summit: "Try today to unlock that creative potential that is inside us all." If you are an employee try to be an intrepreneur or become an entrepreneur, if you are in business and are a little discouraged then pick yourself up, refocus on why you doing business.
You can do anything if you believe it. Everything in this life is a choice, you can choose to fail, you can choose to quit, or can choose to win. Start achieving today, get rid of the negative emotions that hold you down, work hard, keep a level head, push away discouragement, focus on the dream, pick yourself up when hope is glim, do what you need to do, shake away regret and sort out unfinished business, then watch yourself grow as you apply passion to what you want to do.
It’s time to get up and move, you can't make footprints in the sands of time sitting on your butt!
