The art of getting things done

Today's guest blog looks at how entrepreneurs can avoid watching their pile of uncompleted tasks grow...
We’ve all been there. We have a ton of things to get done, but for whatever reason, we either struggle to get started or we never finish them all. So, what’s the art of both getting started but also making sure that you get finished?
To get started, make a list. List out all of the things that you are planning to do and make sure it’s a long list. Making sure that you can see what you need to do will focus your mind more towards doing it. Also, the positive feeling you get when you cross things off the list is also a great motivator to make you want to cross more off. Positive reinforcement.
To get finished, delegate. When I say delegate, I don’t mean just getting somebody else to do it all for you. I mean getting somebody who is better than you are to focus on the things that you aren’t so good at, whilst you focus your time on the things that you are best at.
In life, and in business, focusing your time on something that you are going to get the best return from is what you should do. There is no point spending five hours on something for an average result, if somebody else can do it for you in one hour and to a higher standard then why not let them?
Surround yourself with people who are better than you are, and you will soon see yourself improve.
One way to do this is through Servango - a free iPhone application that allows you to outsource tasks and engage your community to help you complete your tasks more efficiently.
