Lloyds offer entrepreneurs funding opportunity

Following on from the expansion of the Start-Up Loans scheme this week, UK entrepreneurs are set to receive a further boost this month with the injection of thousands of pounds into fledgling businesses through the Lloyds TSB Enterprise Awards.

The bank is currently on the lookout for the best and brightest entrepreneurial talent the country’s universities has to offer, aiming to celebrate innovation, drive and dedication.

The annual awards will offer 16 prizes of £5,000 and £1,000 for the Best Enterprise and Best Start-up in the 8 initial heats. The heat winners will then go on to the Grand Final where one business from both categories will be awarded Best Overall Enterprise or Start-up and receive £50,000 and £10,000 respectively.

Along with the cash prizes the winners will benefit from an enhanced programme of mentoring, continued networking opportunities and coverage in The Sunday Telegraph.

The awards are open to those who; have founded or co-founded their own business, have graduated in the last five years or are currently a student, are 18 years or older and have a business based in England, Scotland or Wales that has been trading for more than a year.
