Entrepreneur has her cake and eats it

When you're an entrepreneur, you really can have your cake and eat it. Or at least you can if you are Alecia James, one of the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship Caribbean entrepreneurs.

Alecia runs Signature Cakes in Montego Bay, Jamaica and has just won the Pastry Chef of the Year-Next Generation award from the Sunday Observer.

Alecia commented on the Branson Centre website: "In order to achieve and be a successful entrepreneur you have to think big."

Signature Cakes has a social angle too, with the company providing employment for local people. It’s a highly collaborative business where people can get involved from all aspects of the community too.

This isn't the first entrepreneur success story related to baking to come to our attention recently. Earlier this year Richard Branson invested in Cake Booth after being impressed with a young entrepreneur he met at Enterprise UK in Liverpool.
