I am deathly afraid of flying. With that being said, I feel safest on Virgin America...new planes...seems like a revitalized crew...etc. With 2009 being the year of major airline crashes, I wonder if airlines are doing anything to rethink air travel safety? I submitted this question to ask richard section and hope for some type of answer. I did some research online. Typing in air travel safety and innovation yields little to no results. The results that do show up are not innovative and seem archaic. I guess it's unsettling to me that after all these years...there is still very little we can do to minimize plane crash casualties. We need something like what the air-bag did for automobile accidents. Can we look to sci-fi movies for inspiration? Like...what if the plane was going down...but at a certain altitude the plane was able to generate some kind of magnetic energy field that would go against gravity...I could have sworn in science class that the earth was considered a giant magnet...at any rate...thought i'd start a discussion. Anyone have any ideas?

Simply the best. There is no comparison in the US. Jet Blue has awesome TV...Virgin America has awesome everything.
